The Full Step-Up Hand scores 20 points when all five melds are sequences that each begin one number higher than the last — 2-3-4, 3-4-5, 4-5-6, 5-6-7, 6-7-8 — like a staircase. The suits may be mixed; it is the climbing pattern of the runs that earns the bonus.
