This is the agreement you accept when you create an event on Planet Mahjong. It covers who is responsible for what, how money on a ticketed event is collected and paid out, and what we may do if an event breaks these terms. It is short on purpose. If something here does not match what actually happens, that is a bug in this document and we want to hear about it.
Pending legal review. Version 3 is a rewrite and has not yet been vetted by a lawyer. It describes what the platform actually does today.
Who this is between
These terms are between Planet Mahjong and you, the organiser of an in person mahjong event listed on Planet Mahjong. You accept them each time you create an event.
What Planet Mahjong does, and does not do
Planet Mahjong lists your event, takes bookings for it, and for a ticketed event collects the money.
Planet Mahjong does not run your event, is not present at it, and is not a party to what happens between you and the people who attend.
You run the event
You are responsible for running your table safely and as you described it, for the venue and its suitability, and for every local permission, licence and tax that applies to it.
Free events
A free event collects no money and pays out nothing. Planet Mahjong charges you nothing for it.
Ticketed events
Planet Mahjong collects the seat price from the player at the moment they book.
Planet Mahjong keeps 7.5% of the amount collected, which covers the payment gateway fee and SMS, and holds the remaining 92.5% for you.
When you are paid
Your money becomes payable 7 days after the event ends, and is paid to the UPI id you gave us.
If that id is wrong or the transfer fails, the money stays held for you until you give us one that works.
Refunds
Bookings follow the cancellation policy you chose when you created the event. A refund reduces the amount you are paid.
If refunds exceed what you are owed, you owe Planet Mahjong the difference.
Cancelling an event
If you cancel a ticketed event, every booking is refunded in full and you are paid nothing for it.
Your address
If you host at a home, the public page shows only the area on a map. The exact address is shared with a player only once their booking is confirmed.
Invite only events
An event you mark invite only is not shown in public browse, search or the map. It is reachable by its link.
This is not a lock. Anyone who has the link can open it, so treat the link as the thing you are keeping private.
The details of people who book
The names, phone numbers and email addresses of people who book your event are given to you so you can run it. You may use them only for that.
You may not add them to a marketing list, and you may not pass them to anyone else.
Review and removal
Every event is reviewed before it goes live.
Planet Mahjong may decline an event, pause or remove a listing, or suspend an organiser, if these terms are broken or if the event is unsafe, misdescribed or unlawful.
Age
Planet Mahjong is not for under 18s, and neither is your event.
No gambling
You may not run an event where players wager money on the outcome of play, and you may not use Planet Mahjong to collect or settle any such stake.
Liability
Planet Mahjong's liability to you is limited to the amount it holds for you at the time.
Planet Mahjong is not liable for anything that happens at your event.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change. If they do, you will be asked to accept the new version before you create your next event.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Mumbai have exclusive jurisdiction.
